In other CIS sports, Simon Fraser (women's basketball), UBC (men's basketball), Windsor (women's track & field) and Guelph (men's track & field) remain at No. 1, while Alberta leapfrogs UNB in the final men's hockey poll of the season.

This week's is also the final poll of the campaign for women's basketball. Final rankings in women's hockey and men's volleyball were published last week, while the last women's volleyball poll was published on February 16.

Wrestling

Simon Fraser swept the women's and men's team banners at the Canada West championships held in Calgary on Feb. 19-20.

In Ontario, Brock captured the women's title at the OUA meet held in London two weeks ago, while Brock and Lakehead finished in a tie atop the men's standings.

Despite edging Calgary by a point (35-34) at the Canada West meet, the SFU women go into this week's Nationals ranked No. 2 behind the reigning CIS champion Dinos. Brock, Regina and Western round out the top five.

On the men's side, SFU tops the pre-championship rankings followed by UNB, Regina, Lakehead and Concordia.

Women's basketball

The reigning national champion Simon Fraser Clan (17-1 season / 2-0 playoffs) lead the rankings for the 13th time in as many coaches' polls this year. SFU opened the playoffs with an 87-54, 96-49 sweep of Winnipeg in a Canada West quarter-final, and will now host the conference Final Four on Friday and Saturday.

Friday's semifinals see the No. 1 Clan battle No. 3 Saskatchewan (14-6 / 2-0) and No. 4 Regina (16-4 / 2-0) face No. 6 Alberta (15-5 / 2-1). The top three finishers will advance to the CIS championship to be held at McMaster University in Hamilton from March 12 to 14.

In the Atlantic conference, No. 5 Cape Breton (19-1 / 2-0) captured the AUS crown and qualified for the CIS tournament, joining host McMaster.

In Ontario, Ottawa qualified with a 59-54 upset win over No. 10 Carleton in the OUA East final. The third and final OUA berth will be on the line Wednesday night when No. 2 Windsor (21-1 / 1-0) hosts No. 9 Western (17-5 / 1-0) in the OUA West title match.

In Quebec, No. 8 Laval (13-3) is one of four teams still in the hunt for the lone QSSF berth, which will be awarded to the conference champions on Saturday.

Men's basketball

The 2008-09 CIS finalist UBC Thunderbirds (17-1 season / 2-0 playoffs) top the rankings for a fourth straight week. The T-Birds crushed Alberta 92-62 and 103-68 in the opening round of the post-season and now host the Canada West Final Four on Friday and Saturday.

听

Friday's semifinals pit No. 1 UBC against No. 10 Saskatchewan (14-6 / 2-0), and No. 6 Calgary (15-5 / 2-0) against No. 9 Simon Fraser (14-4 / 2-1). The two winners advance to the conference final and the CIS championship, to be hosted by Carleton University in Ottawa from March 19 to 21.

In Ontario, Saturday's OUA division finals see No. 2 Carleton (20-2 / 1-0) battle No. 5 Ottawa (18-4 / 1-0) for the East crown, and No. 7 Windsor (17-5 / 1-0) play No. 8 Lakehead (17-5 / 1-0) for the West title. The West winner will join host Carleton at the CIS tournament, and so will Ottawa should the Gee-Gees upset the Ravens. Should Carleton win the OUA East banner, Ottawa would play the loser of the West final for the third and last OUA berth.

The QSSF and AUS both get a single guaranteed berth into the CIS tourney. The Quebec final is set for March 11, while the title match in the Atlantic is scheduled for March 14.

All four conference championships were held last weekend with Saskatchewan (women) and Regina (men) splitting the team titles in Canada West, while Windsor, Dalhousie and Sherbrooke swept the OUA, AUS and QSSF banners, respectively.
