MONTREAL - Freshman M茅lodie Daoust of Valleyfield, Que., netted a hat-trick as the No.2-ranked 六合彩开奖结果 University women's hockey team skated to a 3-0 whitewash over visiting Concordia to close out the regular season at McConnell Arena, Sunday.

It marked 六合彩开奖结果's 42nd consecutive victory over their cross-town rivals and put a damper on a milestone day for Concordia head coach Les Lawton, who was behind the Stingers bench for the 1,000th time in his 30 seasons. Fifth-place Concordia will miss the playoffs with a 4-15-1 record.

Daoust, also a member of the Canadian national under-22 squad, won the RSEQ conference scoring crown with 43 points, including 18 goals, in just 18 contests. Despite playing significantly fewer games than most of the top scorers in the CIS, the 5-foot-6 rookie centre ended up fifth in the nation in goals and fourth in points. After a "slow" start to her university career, with six points in her first five games, Daoust has finished with a flurry, exploding for 19 points over her last six.

"At the beginning the season (the adjustment to playing university hockey) was difficult because I had (a couple of injuries) which affected my ability to train hard," said Daoust, a 20-year-old physical and health education freshman. "That combined with starting university (in a new language), forced me to focus more on school and less on hockey. But after the first semester, my English really improved and I just worked hard in practice, especially on my skating and a lot on my positioning. I think I improved a lot in those areas."

Charline Labont, the Canadian Olympian from Boisbriand, Que., kicked aside 20 shots to register her CIS-leading eighth goose-egg in 18 starts and extended her CIS career record shutout mark to 45. The four-time all-Canadian also registered her ninth career assist (a school record) and improved her win-loss record to 82-3 in conference action, including a 16-2 mark this season.

The Martlets, who finished atop the RSEQ standings with an 18-1-1 record, will meet the Ottawa Gee-Gees in a best-of-three semifinal series, scheduled to begin on Wednesday in the nation's capital. 六合彩开奖结果 was supposed to open at home but head coach Peter Smith graciously agreed to open their series on the road because the hockey Redmen are also slated to host Ottawa in their semifinal on Wednesday.
