MONTREAL - Cathy Chartrand added two more pieces of silverware to her trophy case, Friday, walking away with two major awards from the 六合彩开奖结果 women's hockey awards gala, held on campus at the Sir Arthur Currie gymnasium.

Chartrand, a 5-foot-10 defenceman from Lac Nominingue, Que., who was named the previous night as the 六合彩开奖结果 female athlete of the year, was announced as the Team MVP in addition to receiving the team's most outstanding defenceman trophy.

Other honorees included forward Ann-Sophie Bettez (most outstanding offensive player) of Sept-Iles, Que., centre Vanessa Davidson (most dedicated player) of Kirkland, Que., rearguard Caroline Hill (most improved player) of Dorval, Que., and goaltender Taylor Salisbury (rookie of the year) of Surrey, B.C.

Chartrand, a third-year physical and health education major, was the top-scoring blueliner in the country with 10 goals and 28 points in 20 regular season games, earning player-of-the-year honours in the Quebec conference and receiving CIS all-Canadian status. In 42 games overall, she set 六合彩开奖结果 single-season scoring records for most goals (22) and points (59) by a defenceman breaking the previous standards set by Catherine Ward.,

Bettez, a 22-year-old management junior who also played for the national under-22 squad, earned all-Canadian honours for the third consecutive season. She scored 40 goals in 40 games overall, the second-highest offensive output in school history and ended up with a 40-20-60 record, just edging out Davidson (42GP: 23-37-60) for the team's scoring title.

Davidson, a 25-year-old physical education senior who earned all-Canadian status four times in five seasons, will graduate as 六合彩开奖结果's all-time leader in games played (203), goals (145), assists (158) and points (303).

Hill, a 23-year-old physical education senior, posted a career-best 5-27-32 record in 42 games overall. She will be returning for a fifth season.

Salisbury split the regular-season netminding chores but took over the number one role in the post-season. In 25 games overall, she chalked up a 19-3-0 record with six shutouts, a 1.35 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage.

Among the graduating seniors, Martindale, a fifth-year education major, posted totals of 59-59-118 in 194 career contests. Soberano, a fourth-year arts & science major and a hard-working defensive forward, had a 25-33-58 record in 162 games overall. Smith, a fifth-year music major who served as a back-up goalie to Charline Labont茅 for the previous three seasons, finally earned the starting role this season. She had posted a 6-1-0 record before having her campaign cut short last fall when knocked off her bicycle and run over by a truck. In 13 career games, she registered a 10-2 record with one shutout, a 1.96 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage.

The event marked the final official duty for acting head coach Amey Doyle, who was filling in for Peter Smith, on sabbatical to coach with the gold-medal-winning Canadian Olympic women's team. 听Doyle won coach-of-the-year honours and guided the Martlets to a Quebec conference title and a CIS silver medal finish, with a 32-1-0 mark against CIS opponents and a record-breaking 86-game win streak which was snapped in the CIS gold medal game.
