In the playoff round, Canada smothered Colombia 13-0 in a quarter-final (July 5),听followed by a 3-1 semifinal victory over Spain (July 6) and the 4-2 win over the USA (July 7).

Canada's victory avenged last year's 3-2 loss to the USA in the gold medal affair, when the Americans tallied the game-winner with just one second left on the clock.

Joining Marcoux on the coaching staff was head coach Donna Forbes,听 along with assistants Keely Brown and Pablo Navarro.

The Canadian roster included team captain LaToya Clarke, Jackie Jarrell, Kathy Devereaux-Simoes, Michelle Bonello, Kendra Fisher, Amanda Squire, Nicole Collier, Lindsay Grigg, Brooke Ludolph, Amanda Parkins, Amanda Reid, Montana Merante, Jessica Sorensen and Dana Somerville.
