OTTAWA (CIS) - 六合彩开奖结果 kicker Austin Anderson, McMaster quarterback Kyle Quinlan and Montreal defensive lineman Mathieu Brossard are the CIS football players of the week for the period ending Oct. 4, 2009.

The selection was made by a committee comprised of members of University Football Reporters of Canada (UFRC).

Anderson, a second-year finance student from Canmore, Alta., was the choice on special teams after he went 4-for-4 on field goal attempts and nailed the game-winning 28-yarder with 41 seconds left as the visiting Redmen (3-2) edged Bishop's (1-4) 21-19. The 5-foot-10, 162-pound sophomore, son of former NFL legendary kicker Gary Anderson, was also successful from distances of 25, 23 and 43 yards as he accounted for 13 of 六合彩开奖结果's 21 points on the afternoon.

Quinlan, a second-year economics student from South Woodslee, Ont., contributed to all six McMaster touchdowns last Saturday as the Marauders (3-2) upset the previously undefeated and No. 2-ranked Western Ontario Mustangs (4-1) 42-35 in front of a homecoming crowd of 9,217 in London. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound sophomore completed 17 of 22 passes for 272 yards and three majors with no interceptions, and added 72 yards and three scores on the ground. The result propelled the Marauders to No. 10 in the national rankings, while dropping Western to No. 5.

Saint Mary's quarterback Jack Creighton, Concordia slotback Liam Mahoney and Calgary running back Matt Walter were also up for the award on offence.

Brossard, a fifth-year administration student from Montreal, took home the weekly honour on defence after he tallied a game-high eight tackles and two sacks as the Carabins (4-1) upset reigning Vanier Cup champion Laval (4-1) 28-7 in front of a sellout crowd of 5,012 at Montreal's CEPSUM Stadium, last Sunday. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound senior led the charge as Montreal held the powerful Rouge et Or offence to 277 total yards, including a mere 60 on the ground. The Carabins climbed to the top of the CIS rankings following the upset victory, while Laval fell to No. 2 after suffering its first loss since 2007.

StFX defensive back Dylan Hollohan, Queen's defensive back David Rooney and UBC safety Alex Babalos were also nominated.

Saint Mary's kicker Justin Palardy, Queen's kick returner Jimmy Allin and Calgary kicker Aaron Ifield were also up for the distinction.
