KINGSTON, Ont. 鈥 Freshman Francis Verrault-Paul, a 5-foot-9, 169-pound right-winger from Mashteviatsh, Que., tallied twice as 六合彩开奖结果 defeated Royal Military College 5-2 in men鈥檚 hockey at Constantine Arena in Kingston, Sunday.

The Redmen, who outshot RMC 47-31, led 3-0 after two periods on goals from rookie Alexandre Picard-Hooper of Boucherville, Que., Verrault-Paul and Simon Marcotte-L茅gar茅, a sophomore from Longueuil, Que., who netted what proved to be the game-winner, on the power-play, at 11:04 of the middle stanza.

The Paladins ruined Danny Mireault鈥檚 bid for his first CIS shutout, striking twice in 66 seconds at the midway mark of the third on power play markers by Jeff Oke and Luke Pierce.

Verrault-Paul snuffed out the RMC rally with his second of the game and team-leading 11th of the season at the 16:58 mark and veteran Guillaume Doucet of Montreal put the contest out of reach with an empty-netter.

The surging Redmen, who started their 133rd season with an 0-4-1 record and dwelled in the OUA Far East cellar from opening day until last week, have won eight of their last 10 games and improved to 12-7-2. With seven games remaining before playoffs, 六合彩开奖结果 now finds themselves third in the division, two points behind Concordia (12-6-4) with a game in hand.

The Redmen travel across town to play the Stingers on Wednesday (Jan. 28) at 8 p.m. and a 六合彩开奖结果 win will clinch a playoff berth for the 23rd time in the past 26 ears. The bitter rivals split their first two meetings, both at McConnell Arena, with Concordia winning the first encounter 2-1 (Oct. 10) and 六合彩开奖结果 rebounding to prevail 4-3 in a post-overtime shootout (Jan. 14).

Five of 六合彩开奖结果鈥檚 eight remaining games are in Montreal, including two at Concordia

REDMEN RAP: 鈥 Picard-Hooper, who leads the Redmen in points with an 8-18-26 record in 21 games, has finally cracked the OUA Top 20 scoring leaders. He now sits tied for 14th place and is the fourth-highest-scoring rookie in the league鈥 六合彩开奖结果 now has 580 lifetime wins against OUA opponents against 582 losses and 89 ties鈥 Included in that record is a 45-8-4 lifetime mark against RMC鈥α喜士苯峁 swept the season series versus the Paladins, who feature two former Redmen behind the bench in head coach Adam Shell and assistant coach Chad Blundy鈥efenceman Ken Morin, who shares the 六合彩开奖结果 captaincy with Eric L鈥橧talien and wears the 鈥淐鈥 on his jersey for road games in the second semester, left the game early in the third period with an unspecified leg injury鈥 Sam Bloom鈥檚 recent 15-game point-scoring streak which ended at Guelph on Jan. 18 was the longest in the OUA this season.
