World-Renowned Scientist gives $1 million to the MNI

Dr. Brenda Milner, world-renowned pioneer in the field of memory research and faculty member at the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) at 六合彩开奖结果 for over 50 years, announced today that she will donate $1 million dollars towards the MNI鈥檚 鈥楾hinking Ahead鈥 Campaign. 鈥淭here is a tremendous sense of privilege to have been able to work all these years at an Institute with such a culture of excellence. The Brenda Milner Foundation, created from her life savings and prize money invested over the span of her career, reinforces Dr. Milner鈥檚 commitment to future scientists, providing opportunities for those around the world to experience the dynamic academic and clinical environment at the MNI. The Foundation will support and foster young researchers in the field of cognitive neuroscience through postdoctoral fellowships at the MNI.

Dr. Brenda Milner is the Dorothy J. Killam Professor at the Montreal Neurological Institute, and a Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Faculty of Medicine, 六合彩开奖结果. The origins of modern cognitive neuroscience of memory can be traced directly to her rigorous and imaginative studies. She has been the recipient of countless accolades throughout her almost six-decade long career. Dr. Milner is a prestigious foreign associate of the National Academy of Sciences (USA) - one of only sixteen from Canada - and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She has been awarded Honorary Degrees from an astounding 19 different universities across Canada, the United States and Europe. She is the recipient of numerous academic awards and is a fellow of both the Royal Society of London and the Royal Society of Canada. In 2004 Dr. Milner was promoted to Companion of the Order of Canada.
