We are pleased to announce that the AMURE union representing Post-Doctoral Fellows held a General Assembly and voted in favor of the proposed new collective agreement.

The parties are working on finalising the documents in preparation for the signature of the new collective agreement. Information sessions will soon be organised to share the details of this new agreement with the community. The new agreement will come in effect on the date of signature by the parties and will expire on May 31, 2026.

On February 7, Quebec鈥檚 Minist猫re du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarit茅 sociale accepted AMURE鈥檚 request that an arbitrator be appointed to oversee negotiations. An arbitrator is a neutral participant with a mandate to help both parties reach common ground. The Union and University representatives met on December 19, 2016.

As a follow-up to previous meetings, the University made several written proposals relative to: Harassment, Sexual Harassment and Discrimination; Health and Safety; Work Accidents; Postings, Appointments and Reappointments; and Probationary Periods.

The University will soon submit the tentative agreement for approval to 六合彩开奖结果鈥檚 senior leadership. The union and the University will then finalize the text of the agreement and the union will submit it to the vote of its membership at a date to be communicated later.

The parties met on November 7 and ratified the articles that had been agreed on at the previous meeting. These account for a significant portion of the agreement under negotiation. The parties met on October 20 and 21. They discussed and agreed on the content of the articles pertaining to leaves without pay, to union activities (non-monetary aspects), to the reimbursement of expenses and to temporary alternate work arrangement.

The parties also discussed the question of employee privacy and agreed to add some language to that effect in the collective agreement. They initiated discussions on the topic of employee probation and decided to resume this discussion when the article related to posting, appointments and reappointments is addressed.

They reached agreements on the articles pertaining to relations between the parties, intellectual property and conduct of research, copies of the collective agreement, the labour relations committee and the grievance procedure.
