Ratna Ghosh, of our Department of Integrated Studies in Education, has been named as a听Membre听茅尘茅谤颈迟别听of the Order of Excellence in Education in Quebec (OEE). Prof. Ghosh received the medal at a ceremony in Quebec City on Friday, June 15th.

Prof.听Ghosh has been appointed by the two ministries for a three-year term to serve on the 10-person jury to select members of the听.听The Order is for all levels of education and has three ranks: Membre 脡m茅rite (Eminent Member), Membre Distingu茅 (Distinguished Member) and Membre (Member).

Among the recipients of the OEE were several distinguished educators at the University, CEGEP and school levels.听Education alumnus Patrick Elbaz (B.Ed., Physical Education, 1989; M.Ed., Educational Administration, 1994), currently a science teacher at Herzliah High School, became a Member of the Order.听

Ratna Ghosh, Distinguished James 六合彩开奖结果 Professor and William C. MacDonald Professor in our Department of Integrated Studies in Education, was Dean of Education at 六合彩开奖结果 from 1998 to 2003, was appointed a听Member of the Order of Canada听(C.M.) in 2000,听Officer of the Order of Quebec听(O.Q.) in 2005, and was elected a听Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada听(F.R.S.C.) in 1999. She received both the Queen鈥檚 Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals. She is also a听 Member of the European Academy of Arts, Sciences and Humanities; and a Fellow of The World Academy (TWAS)听for the advancement of science in developing听countries, Social Sciences Division, in Trieste, Italy. She recently founded the听Research Group听PEER (Preventing Extremism through Education Research).

In May 2018听Dr. Ghosh received the Order of Montreal.听
