Overview

Jazz Studies : Techniques for development of school, community-based and post-secondary jazz programs. Topics include: philosophy of jazz instruction, curriculum development, rhythm section, musical materials, techniques to develop improvisation and aural skills, jazz styles, idiomatic instrumental techniques, score preparation, rehearsal techniques and administration of jazz programs. May include coaching opportunities.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2012-2013 academic year.
