Your studies in food sciences听will focus on the chemistry of food, and the scientific principles of food preservation, processing and packaging. A听highly听unique aspect to the program is the opportunity听for听students听to obtain real world research experience in the food/nutrition industries听with an approved host organization听such as industry and non-governmental agencies. The听internship听course can involve a wide range of food/human nutrition research including听food product development, nutritional labeling,听nutritional supplements, food fortification, nutraceuticals, functional foods, food safety and quality assurance,听writing nutrition articles for consumer education.
